Description
I started this after my last horse painting with the intention of just doing a quick practice painting. Next thing I know, it's three days later and it's taking me hours just to do one leg. I'm really happy with the result, though!
I did this in my new favorite program, MyPaint [link] . It's open source, free, and really powerful. I found it when I went searching for some new free painting program to have some fun with. There were a lot out there to choose from, but I went for this one because it sounded a lot like what I imagine Artrage and Corel Painter to be like. It has that whole "simulating real media" thing. I find it a lot easier to paint in than Photoshop.
I used the pencil tool, then blended it with the water/blending stump tool. Then I put it into Photoshop and cropped it to size. I had to add the background in Photoshop because I didn't set up my painting right to add the background in MyPaint. I'll know better next time.
I did it in black and white just for fun.
